✨💃 Letty’s confidence comeback with the STEPS SEE team in Cairns! 💃✨ When Letty first visited our STEPS Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program site in Cairns, she was so shy she could barely make eye contact with anyone. In those early days, Letty stayed quiet in class and kept to herself – but everything started to change when she connected with the women in her group over a shared love of food, gardening and good conversation. With time, Letty began to grow, both in skill and spirit. She improved her reading and writing, formed supportive friendships, and recently shared a surprising secret: she used to teach Zumba lessons! Now, Letty leads 'Vintage Zumba' sessions for her class once a week, and her energy is infectious. She’s laughing, beaming, dancing, and inspiring everyone around her (including the trainers!) to join. “It’s funny to think about how nervous I was at the beginning,” Letty said. “Now, I always look forward to coming to class and seeing everyone! The best part is feeling like I belong. I’ve made friends for life here.” Letty, your growth, energy and kindness inspire the SEE team every day. The mural proudly displayed within the SEE training room in Nambour tells a powerful story 🎨 This stunning piece of art was the very first creative project of the STEPS Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program in Nambour. Unveiled in February, the mural features colourful artwork from every participant, including Paul F, who illustrated the old cane trains that used to run through the main streets of Nambour. Through the STEPS SEE Program, Paul overcame his shyness, found his voice (and artistic talent!), and secured a full-time job before the mural was even complete! The mural stands as a daily reminder of what’s possible when we believe in ourselves and each other.
