April 6-12 next year 2026 the Balloon National Championships will run at Benalla. This will be part of Art of Flight Festival. Goldrush Ballooning is hosting along with the Museum. Maximum attendance from the Community needed. Pass the word around. Should be amazing. (fb)
Our Observation tower is coming along slowly. The damaged steel sections have been removed and replaced with new ones. Noel O'Connor has put them in place. The tower is be cleaned of mould and seal with Penetrol. It will then be finished off with a grey Killrust paint (metallic look). Our Museum sign will be attached on the west facing side to make our Museum more visible. Thanks to Noel for all his hard work, and Christine for her expert support, supervision and cupcakes. Home About Projects Gallery Museum Trail Location More BENALLA AVIATION MUSEUM AND MENS SHED BENALLAAVIATIONMUSEUM and mens shed Welcome The Benalla Aviation Museum and Men39s Shed offers a fascinating look at Australia39s military air training history from the historic home of a World War II RAAF pilot training school. Attractions include a unique collection of military training aircraft a number of which are fully operational and many related static and operational displays including the ATC AIRTC AAFC Memorabilia Collection. The Complex also includes a Men39s Shed which enables members to participate in Men39s Shed as well as Museum activities. HISTORY The Museum is located in the historic home of the 11 EFTS Elementary Flying Training School Wartime Training Unit which was stationed at Benalla from 1941 1945 and from where some 80 De Havilland DH.
