COMPACT is a youth and career development organisation. Through the delivery of quality targeted programs, we connect people, education and workplaces to help young people reach their goals and to help support the future of Riverina Murray industries. This year has seen us work through the continuing impacts of the COVID19 pandemic in line with NSW Government public orders, as we continue to support youth in our region to seek successful pathways for their futures. We have also celebrated 30 years of linking students to the workforce and reengaging youth in the region to education through our NSW Government Stronger Country Communities funded programs; ChangeUP and CREW: Confident, Ready and Engaged for Work programs. ChangeUP is a wellbeing program aimed at developing a growth mindset and strengthbased resilience in young people with the opportunity to develop a positive community project. The CREW project focusses on development of work readiness in young people with the implementation of workshops, tours and guest speakers. Our Burrabinya Leap to your future program facilitated opportunities for young Aboriginal people to build positive cultural networks, improve resilience and improve overall wellbeing with culturally appropriate programs, helping our first nations youth to engage with their culture and build a career across our footprint. COMPACT Incorporated has encouraged better engagement in education and employment to promote successful futures. We were able to continue our work alongside our great supporters, including our wonderful employer network, regional Schools and Department staff. This year our team have managed over 3,000 successful work placements for our regions young people from diverse backgrounds, by working with 57 high schools, 11 TAFE providers, and engaging almost 1000 employers from 14 industry areas. The innovative program through our Workplace Learning Network for regional VET ITC students with Amazon Web Services, continues to offer valuable virtual Work placement opportunities. It has been vitally important for us to work closely with regional schools, business and industry and community organisations to maintain relationships as COMPACT Incorporated supported them through another very difficult year. COMPACT Inc contributes to make a difference, by governing an organisation that achieves positive outcomes for youth, including skills, education, employment, and wellbeing. Our 2022 key strategic priorities include Purpose and Strategy, Policy and Advocacy, Governance, leadership and organisational capability, and Marketing, Media, and Innovation.
