Buzz in the West indeed! Congratulations to all the extraordinary performers from West Phil and River City Voices on the recent premiere of Vieira’s Stabat Mater - a stirring, contemporary take on a timeless tradition - and Vivaldi's Gloria. This marks our second triumphant collaboration with RCV, and we are deeply grateful to have shared in such a powerful musical journey once again. Sincere thanks to River City Voices (@Inara Molinari, @Catherine Dolle) and conductor @Sarah Penicka-Smith for having us, and to Daniel Dean and Maximilian Holzner Holzner for their tireless work behind the scenes to bring it all together for the orchestra. This performance was also an exceptional educational opportunity for our young WestPhil participants, who worked alongside professional mentors through the generous support of the The The Australian Haydn Ensemble. Our thanks to @Skye McIntosh and AHE for making it possible for these emerging musicians to engage with historically informed performance practice in such a meaningful and inspiring way. We do this through youthoriented camps culminating in performances that captivate our audiences as well as other oneoff performances and events. And because we39re a notforprofit entity all the money we make is put back into West Phil for the benefit of young potential musicians of western Sydney and elsewhere.
