Durrung Djeembana is made up of staff from across Sacred Heart Mission and the group works in partnership with First Nations communities and organisations to strengthen cultural inclusion and understanding. The work they do is deeply inspired by values that define First Nations peoples – community, respect and resilience. Its NAIDOC week, and we're celebrating 50 years of “honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience”. This year's theme is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy. It is about celebrating the achievements of the past and also about looking to the bright future ahead that is led by the strength of young First Nations leaders, the vision of their communities, and the legacy of their Ancestors. Sacred Heart Mission is advised and led by First Nations leaders and communities. We are proud to be able to walk in solidarity with First Nations communities into a future of empowerment, inclusivity and understanding.
