Business NSW is stepping up the fight to fix NSW’s broken workers’ comp system. Our members tell us it's often being used to escalate workplace disputes and performance issues. Psychological injury claims have jumped 65% since 2021–22, with more than 11,000 lodged last year. The scheme’s deficit has blown out to $3.6 billion, double last year’s total, and costs around $5 million each day. Insurance premiums continue to soar. Member Philippe Cassegrain, from Cassegrain Wines, says rising premiums make it harder for businesses to grow and invest. Business NSW has always backed fair support for injured workers. But the system must draw a line between legitimate claims and workplace grievances. The time for reform is now. #BusinessNSW #WorkersCompReform #FixWorkersComp (fb)
