Kadri Bodhi Monastery Incorporated is a registered Australian nonprofit organisation dedicated to promoting Buddhist teachings, meditation practices, and cultural activities within the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Founded to serve the spiritual needs of lay and monastic communities, it functions as a meditation centre with a focus on preserving Buddhist philosophy, art, and ethical living[1][3][5].

Lineage and Tradition
The monastery adheres to the 900-year-old Karma Kagyu lineage, which traces its origins to the Buddha Shakyamuni and emphasizes direct oral transmission from master to disciple. This tradition, historically propagated by figures like Marpa Lotsawa and the Gyalwang Karmapas, prioritizes meditation practices and ethical discipline as paths to enlightenment[1][4].

Activities and Programs
The organisation conducts beginner and advanced Buddhist study programs, meditation retreats, and workshops on traditional arts. Its annual Australian Kagyu Monlam Festival unites monastic and lay communities in collective prayers for global peace, harmony, and environmental sustainability[1][5]. Volunteers manage all operations, including educational initiatives aimed at deepening understanding of Buddhist philosophy and compassionate living[2][3].

Organizational Structure
As a nonprofit, Kadri Bodhi Monastery relies on volunteer efforts and community donations to sustain its activities. It fosters connections through in-person and online programs, ensuring accessibility to diverse audiences across New South Wales and beyond[2][5].
