BBC is proud to unveil our 2025 Cultural Round gear, designed by Year 12 students in our First Nations program. This annual tradition at BBC provides the opportunity for First Nations students to share their culture with our community. The designs are infused with meaning through the collaboration of our seven senior First Nations students. They embarked on a creative journey, exploring their cultural roots and personal perspectives, and together, they have enriched their work with symbolism and deeply felt expressions of identity. The meanings woven into the designs include: Seven Students – There are seven of these symbols in the design, each representing the Year 12 First Nations students and their families. River – The river symbolises the journey of the First Nations students as they grow older and develop into Gentlemen of Honour. The river leads to a meeting circle, representing them joining the BBC community. Dot painting – The use of dot painting in the design represents not only the students in the First Nations Program but also the other students in the school as well. The union of these two groups into one BBC brotherhood is represented by the merging of the two circular patterns of dots. Torres Strait art – The inclusion of the Torres Strait art on the back of the jersey represents strength, resilience, and unity. This element speaks not only for First Nations students but also for the boys who wear the jersey. Meeting circle – This meeting circle represents BBC, where the students in our First Nations program gathered to become part of the BBC brotherhood.
