Providing programs and opportunities for kids, young people, parents and seniors in our local community NCNS provides local, flexible and responsive social support services to vulnerable communities, families and children in the Penrith LGA. Operating from 3 Neighbourhood Centres and 1 Aboriginal Family Centre our activities such as Breakfast Clubs, Youth Actitities, Aboriginal Cultural Programs and child and family services such as playgroups, provide accessible connection points to the service system for families that are most at risk. Through these high quality and engaging activities, we can develop the trust and relationship to provide more targeted services such as case management, parenting programs and home visiting services to address complex issues of mental health, drug and alcohol, domestic and family violence and child neglect and abuse. Being accessible, consistent and building trusting relationships we are able to make positive interventions at key developmental points to change the life trajectory for children and young people. Our school chaplains work in 3 local schools providing individual and group programs to support child wellbeing. Our Aboriginal Family Centre Koolyangarra is an active centre for Aboriginal community and cultural activities. Our Casework team supports up to 80 families at any time keeping children safe and support parents.
