ASWA 75th Anniversary Celebration, Saturday 17th May. Here is a map of the central area of Whiteman Park around the village. The ASWA 75th celebrations will take place at Gazebo "C" and parking is at Carpark 5 and 5a. 5a will put you right at the Societies Observatory and close to the ASWA Cafe 🙂 Please feel free to arrive anytime from midday, but access to the gazebo is from 6pm, or most likely earlier if the previous party has finished 🙂 If you want to set up solar scopes during the arvo please feel free to do so possibly around the observatory. Telescopes would most likely be better located close to gazebo C rather than moving them when the sun sets. The Park gates close at 6pm and there is NO access after that, you may leave whenever you want as all gates are auto exits. Please remember it is BYO everything except soft drinks and Cake which will be provided, gluten free included. The BBQ's are coin operated and it wouldn't do any harm to have a few coins in your pocket/purse in case we run out 🙁 We are looking forward to seeing you there, rain, hail or snow, it will still go ahead. Security will be on site and keeping an eye on the gates etc. I personally would appreciate an idea of how many are planning to attend and the best way to do that is to text me on 0488 228 088 with a yes and how many of you there are, families are most welcome. Lets celebrate 75 years of Astronomy in WA together. Cheers (fb)

We are located in Perth the worlds most isolated capital city at roughly 32S 116E but are open to Membership from all over the state the country the world or even the Universe. If you check a satellite snap of the Earth at night youll see us as that lonely dot on the west coast of the vast dark expanse that is Australia.
