The Volunteer Symposium for Regional and Community-Run Museums has wrapped, and what an incredible two days it was at the Mint on 28 and 29 July. This event was proudly presented by Museums & Galleries of NSW and Museums of History NSW. Designed for volunteers who work in small to medium-sized museums in regional NSW, as well as the workers who support them, the Symposium featured keynote sessions on strategies for volunteer-run museums, succession planning, First Nations engagement and school learning programs in museums. We also hosted many breakout sessions delivered by experts from MHNSW and M&G NSW. Thank you to every volunteer and community museum representative who joined us, we are proud to support your work and celebrate your energy, passion and dedication to the museum sector.
