Wollongong to the World Stage This November, our very own Sensei Mick Heimdall will represent Australia at the 2025 World Masters Veterans Judo Championships in Paris, France (3–7 Nov). Competing in the M6 +100kg category, Mick enters as the #2 seed in the world chasing a lifelong dream to stand on the podium in the spiritual home of modern judo. With 48 years on the mats, countless international medals, and a Gold at the 2024 Australian Nationals Masters, Mick’s journey is a story of resilience, dedication, and community support. “My training journey is a true team effort with support from my club, family, and the veteran community” Sensei Mick Heimdall With the re-launch of the RSL City of Wollongong Judo Program on his return, Mick’s goal is to inspire veterans and their families to stay active, connected, and strong.
