Northern Settlement Services Limited, now operating under the business name Mosaic Multicultural Connections, is a nonprofit organization based in Australia. Established in 1981 as a Migrant Resource Centre by the Federal Government, it was initially known as Northern Settlement Services and has since evolved under its new name.
History and Evolution
Mosaic Multicultural Connections was established to assist migrants and refugees in settling into Australian life. Over the past four decades, it has expanded its services to support a wide range of communities across the Hunter, Central Coast, and New England regions of New South Wales.

Mosaic Multicultural Connections is thrilled to welcome twelve incredible women from Timor-Leste who have just arrived in Tamworth to reunite with their husbands and partners working with Thomas Foods International Their arrival marks the second group joining the Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program (PLMSP) under the Family Accompaniment Program—an inspiring initiative dedicated to keeping families together while supporting Pacific and Timorese workers across Australia. To help these women settle in with confidence and connection, a welcoming orientation session was hosted by the PLMSP Family Liaison Officer—with insightful contributions from community champions including the NSW Council for Pacific Communities, Sora Community Services, Services Australia, and our own Mosaic team. 🗣️ A Tetum interpreter was on hand to ensure everyone felt heard, understood, and fully supported every step of the way. This is more than just a reunion—it’s a powerful step toward building inclusive, connected communities where families thrive together. Welcome to Tamworth.
