ARAS is a free, confidential and statewide service which has been supporting older people since 1990. ARAS provides advocacy assistance to support older people to uphold their rights and their responsibi ARAS provides free and independent advocacy services across SA, to assist older people (and/or their representatives) to uphold their human rights where disputes arise, who are living in an aged care facility, receiving aged care funding assistance, or are experiencing, or have experienced abuse. This is done by either direct advocacy or education and support in selfadvocacy. ARAS also provides education training sessions to community groups, aged care staff groups and medical and law graduate groups on identifying, preventing and reporting elder abuse.
