🎶 Celebrating 60 years of Australia - Singapore relations through music 🇦🇺🇸🇬 The University of Adelaide recently led a consortium of Australian universities in a special performance marking the 60th Anniversary of Australia – Singapore relations, held at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. Co-hosted by the Australian High Commission, Singapore, and inspired by His Excellency Allaster Cox, the event showcased the power of music to connect cultures. Representing Adelaide were Elder Conservatorium members Associate Professor Luke Dollman, Lloyd van’t Hoff, students Arjun Singh and Hope Sawers, and Tilly Tilja Thomas from the Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Music. A highlight of the evening was the world premiere of a new work by Dr Connor Fogarty, commissioned by the Australian High Commission. The performance featured collaboration between musicians from Australia and Singapore, including the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, NUS, Griffith University, The University of Melbourne, and members of the SAF Band and Royal Australian Air Force bands. Distinguished guests included Professor Jessica Gallagher, The Honourable Catherine Branson AC SC, and The Honourable John Hill, alongside alumni from Australian universities based in Singapore.
