The Australian Railway Historical Society Queensland Division (ARHS-QD) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the history of railways in Queensland, Australia.

ARHS-QD aims to record and present historical information about Queensland's railway system. The organization is part of a broader movement to preserve and document Australia's railway heritage.
History of Tours
One of the Society's notable activities is its tour operations, which have been conducted since the early days of its formation. A significant early tour took place on April 13, 1957, when members visited the Queensland Railways Mayne facility. Over the years, the Society has organized trips to commemorate anniversaries of railway lines and to explore the closure of others. It has also offered opportunities for members to travel on some of Queensland's most spectacular rail routes, including the coal railways in Central Queensland and behind newly commissioned motive power.
Sunshine Express
Since 1994, ARHS-QD has operated under the Sunshine Express banner, paying tribute to the historic luxury steam-hauled train that once serviced the North Coast Line from Brisbane to Cairns. Through this initiative, the Society continues to provide unique railway-themed trips both within Queensland and beyond.
Publications
The Society has also been involved in publishing materials related to the history of Queensland Railways (QR), with a focus on critical periods such as the 1960s when diesel locomotives began to displace steam locomotives. These publications aim to capture both official and grassroots histories, highlighting the experiences of railway enthusiasts and workers.
