🏆 The impressive upgrade of Leura Culvert last year has been recognised at the 2025 Civil Contractors Federation NSW Earth Awards, winning in the $2-5 million project category. ⏭️ The project now goes on to represent NSW the national awards held on the 27-28 November. ⛈️ Following repeated extreme weather events, including a 1-in-50-year rainfall, the old Leura Culvert site faced extensive landslip damage. Brefni was engaged as Principal Contractor by Council to deliver a smart, sustainable solution in a highly constrained, environmentally sensitive, and culturally significant area. Project highlights include: ✅ Innovative construction using HD polystyrene blocks & modular shoring ✅ 7,000+ worker hours, 0 safety incidents ✅ Protection of heritage structures, waterways & local ecology ✅ Reuse of 5,000 tonnes of sandstone, with over 100 native tree ferns replanted (fb)
