The Patawalonga Creek Conservation Reserve, located on Adelaide Airport land, contains the last section of the creek in its natural state, and contains rare remnant vegetation, including the last stand of Swamp Paperbarks in the metropolitan area.. The site is is located on West Beach Road, opposite Atlantic Avenue, and is open to the public during daylight hours. The Friends of Patawalonga Creek have conducted annual Clean Up Australia Day events at the site since 1999, as well as holding monthly working bees for planting and weed removal, and maintenance of the walking track.

JOIN A GROUP Friends of Patawalonga Creek Login and EditShowhide Recover login and password Showhide The Friends of Patawalonga Creek FoPC is a community group looking after the Patawalonga Creek remnant vegetation site south of West Beach Road West Beach which contains the largest stand of Swamp Paperbarks Melaleuca halmaturorum left in the metropolitan area. The site lies on Adelaide Airport land and we work under the general supervision of the Airports environment manager in collaboration with Green Adelaide and other community groups and contractors including Trees for Life. FoPC working bees are held on the first Sunday of each month except January from 930amnoon meet at site entrance opposite Atlantic Ave. Activities include participating in annual Clean Up Australia Day events National Tree Day planting events and regular activities such as weeding and maintenance of the walking trail.
