At Berwick Campus, Chapel Club recently marked the World Day of Decent Work with a thoughtful and creative activity. Students began by lighting candles and reflecting on people around the world who deserve fairer, more compassionate workplaces. College Chaplain Steven Terrell spoke about the harsh realities faced by many children who are forced to work in unsafe conditions instead of attending school. Inspired to take action, students created paper chains with simple ideas for making workplaces kinder and more respectful, such as listening to others, celebrating achievements, and offering help when it’s needed. Some students took their chains home, while others chose to leave them around the campus Peace Pole as a symbol of hope and change. “It might not survive the next rainfall,” said Mr. Terrell, “but it’s a powerful way for students to engage with big ideas about fairness, peace and the kind of world we want to build.” #BeaconhillsCollege #BeaconhillsChapelClub #WorldDayofDecentWork #Peace (fb)
