Australasian Campuses Towards Sustainability (ACTS) Limited is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to fostering sustainability across campuses in Australia and New Zealand. Established in 2006 and incorporated in 2009, ACTS has grown into a prominent body supporting educational institutions in their pursuit of sustainable practices.
Mission and Activities
The mission of ACTS is to engage, empower, and exemplify organisations in leading the transition to a sustainable future. This is achieved through several key activities:
- Professional Development and Networking: ACTS offers a variety of professional development opportunities, including webinars, roundtables, and an annual conference, to enhance sustainability literacy and capability among its members.
- Cross-Sector Collaborations: The organisation facilitates collaborations across different educational sectors and stakeholders to foster sustainability leadership and drive impactful change.
- Recognition of Sustainability Achievements: ACTS recognises and rewards innovative sustainability practices and achievements, leveraging these successes to share knowledge and expertise.

ACTS comprises a diverse membership base including the majority of universities in Australasia, further education institutions such as TAFE and polytechnic institutes, and a growing cohort of members from the Pacific region. Developed through a collaborative process led by 12 Australian universities and adapted from a framework created by our colleagues in Aotearoa New Zealand, this practical tool supports strategic planning, risk management and institutional adaptation. We are thrilled to welcome Greenfleet Australia as a NFP Affiliate Member! Greenfleet was Australia's first carbon offset provider and has worked to protect and restore native forests across Australia and New Zealand for the past 25 years!
