Young Diggers – Support and programs for serving and ex-serving military personnel and their families
To share information and knowledge in the community regarding Assistance Dogs for Mental Health. 1. The Young Diggers Dog Squad provides Assistance Dogs and ongoing training, to Veterans and First Responders diagnosed with PTSD and associated Mental Health Issues. 2. Conducting home and hospital visits, providing comfort, counselling, advice and essential items during illness or hospitalisation ie Food, Personal Hygiene items, support for their assistance dog. 3. Sourcing accomodation in the event of marriage breakups or home disturbances. 4. Provision of support network services. 6. Dog Welfare services for retired dogs and sick assistance dogs. 5. Support and friendship.
