Established to provide a supportive and encouraging living and learning environment, it caters exclusively to women students across various academic disciplines at UQ.

Last night, our annual Women’s Health Formal Dinner sparked powerful conversations and inspired action, as our College community heard from four remarkable women leading change in the field of women’s health. Our students were treated to an engaging panel discussion featuring: ➡️ Dr Sylvie Giguere, General Practitioner – who shared empowering advice on how women can take charge of their health, particularly in the area of sexual wellbeing. ➡️ Dr Sally Mortlock, Genetic Epidemiologist – who offered fascinating insights into recent advancements in genomic research related to endometriosis and reproductive disorders. ➡️ Dr Sonia Shah, Heart Disease Genetics Researcher – who spoke about the challenges and breakthroughs in identifying heart disease in women. ➡️ Jess Taylor, CEO of QENDO – who passionately advocated for greater support, awareness, and policy change for those living with endometriosis and pelvic pain. Together, these leaders reminded us of the importance of research, advocacy, and access to accurate information in shaping healthier futures for women. A heartfelt thank you to our panellists and Facilitator Caitlin Brittain, for generously sharing their time, wisdom and lived experiences with our students. Your voices are helping empower the next generation to be informed, proactive, and courageous when it comes to their health. (fb)
