SYA ~ An organisation dedicated to inspiring the Sikh Youth of Australia since 1997 www.SikhYouthAustralia.com The organisation has adopted the following strategies to pursue it's purpose (1) Organise national programs to promote the learning and appreciation of Sikh language, history and music (2) conduct national camps and workshops which contribute to universal peace using poetry, music, song, food and literature (3) participation by the organisation in multicultural activities to promote learning and appreciation of Sikh language, history and music. With the Covid19 pandemic issues and to promote information clarity among the Sikh community on the vaccine , SYA produced 3 Covid19 vaccine videos informing the Sikh community of the importance and facts of getting the vaccination. SCO launched a national campaign to encourage the 135,000 Australian Sikhs to get a jab. The dialogue was in Punjabi and English with Sikh role models presenting. SCO also worked with Birthing Kits Foundation Australia (BKFA) in distributing birthing kits and education in clean birthing practices to women birthing at home in developing countries (Africa, Papua New Guinea, India etc). SCO organised Poetry Recitals and Kirtan online programs with both local and overseas presenters to reach out to the Sikh community. These were marketed to all communities on social media and the SYA/SCO website.
