We provide locally grown native plants,herb a The Armidale Tree Group grew around 100,000 trees, shrubs, grasses, forbs, herbs and vegetables in the 20202021 financial year. Most of the trees, shrubs, grasses and forbs are plants native to Australia and most of those are endemic to the New England region and serve to provide environment for our endemic wildlife. Most of these plants have been sold to suburban gardeners, hobby farmers and graziers in the region but we have also planted a number of them ourselves either on the behalf of the landholders of for our own plantings aimed at providing natural vegetation corridors to provide safe passage for animals, especially koalas, in our region. We also maintain native vegetation and facilities such as walking tracks on two blocks of land one on behalf of Crown Lands in the NSW Department of Planning Industry and Environment and the other on behalf of Local Land Services in the Department of Regional NSW, both at our cost. We also administered a number of grants, the main ones being aimed at climate resilience, preparing a nursery for providing plants after bushfire and another at collecting and keeping seeds to help with bushfire recovery.
