This Sunday we will be awarding the inaugural Craig Jarvis ‘Spirit of the Game’ Award for the 2025 Wheelchair Basketball Club League. Craig is a huge figure in the history of our organisation, introducing an incredible amount of our Members over decades through his role as the Sport and Recreation Officer in the Spinal Injuries Unit at Prince of Wales Hospital. Craig also served on our Volunteer Board for 28 years, and is a Life Member. Craig’s Wednesday night Wheelchair Basketball sessions at Daceyville are legendary, and he played a pivotal role in the introduction of Wheelchair Rugby in NSW in the 1990s. Above all, Craig is a gentleman, and a warrior for people with disabilities in sport. After a record season of the Wheelchair Basketball Club League concludes on Sunday, one of our players will be the first person to be awarded the trophy that carries his name. Thank you Craig for everything you have done for our Members over decades of service. There’s no one quite like you. (fb)
