SCC Cross Country Yesterday we had our SCC Cross Country and the whole school from K-12 were involved. The sun was shining and it was a great atmosphere of enthusiasm and team spirit. All students had different goals whether it was to complete the course or to achieve a place. Everyone of them should be congratulated! Science and Engineering Challenge This week, a group of enthusiastic students from our school, guided and encouraged by Dr Klaver, took part in the annual Science and Engineering Challenge. This an exciting national event designed to ignite young minds and showcase the real-world applications of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). From building wind turbines to designing efficient power grids and constructing functional gliders, each activity pushed students to think critically, work collaboratively, and apply scientific principles in creative ways. One of the most valuable lessons students took away from the day was the importance of persistence. Not every design worked on the first try, and many teams had to return to the drawing board, revise their plans, and try again. These moments of trial and error were not failures, but opportunities to learn and improve. Students discovered that in science and engineering, persistence often leads to breakthrough. Our Electricity Team 1, Fish traps Team 2 and EcoHabitech teams deserve a special mention for winning their rounds contributing to our overall third on the day. However, the day wasn’t just about winning points or earning medals. It was about growing as learners and gaining confidence in their ability to face complex tasks.
