Let's celebrate IDAHOBIT! At Live4Life, we admire and respect the rich diversity of LGBTIQA+ people within our organisation and the communities we work alongside. Yesterday, our Deputy CEO Jeremy Wiggins and Community Adviser Ryan Hale attended the annual raising of the Progress Pride Flag at Kyneton Mechanics Institute, hosted by Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health in partnership with Macedon Ranges Shire Council. Great to spend some time with Victorian Minister for Health Mary-Anne Thomas MP and Commissioner for LGBTIQA+ Communities Joe Ball, and celebrate the progress that has been made while also raising awareness of the discrimination that LGBTIQA+ people still face today. The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex discrimination and Transphobia is held on 17 May each year. The first IDAHOBIT took place in 2005 and is today acknowledged by millions of people globally. Empowering young people to support each other, and themselves 💛 Ballarat is now the first regional city in Victoria to deliver Youth Live4Life across all local secondary schools. This community-led mental health program equips Year 8 students with mental health first aid skills, while student-led crews in Years 9–11 help drive conversations and reduce stigma among their peers. RACV is proud to support Youth Live4Life through our Community Investment initiatives, because early intervention and peer support can change lives.
