Today is International Rare Disease Day and this year's theme is MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE. At Genetic Alliance Australia we choose to believe in a world where people living with a rare disease (#PLWRD) receive the recognition and visibility they deserve. February 2025 marked a pivotal turning point for the World Health Assembly (WHA) Resolution on Rare Diseases and the global rare disease community. The #Resolution4Rare has been officially recommended for adoption at the 78th WHA by the 156th WHO Executive Board (EB) in May 2025—a critical step toward securing global recognition and action for PLWRD.
