TIME 2011, written & created by SLIDE, was only possible due to the belief, vision and support from NT dance icon, Sarah Calver @tsarahcalver . She began a new course at Darwin High School - Creative Arts Dance - pioneering this course. Along with her 9 CAD students & some generous local artists; Kathryn Crocker (nee Lawrence), Damien Pree, Immanuel Dado, Julia Quinn @chocolatequinn & production technician, Matt James, along with the enthusiastic support from DHS Principal, Trevor Read - SLIDE began its journey and debuted TIME 2011. ‘Funding’ came in the way of extensive fundraising led & driven by Sarah through the DHS Dance Department. So TIME was funded by our local community ❤️ The 2011 version was a much smaller cast on the Amphitheatre stage, featuring minimal lighting, a donated car, a powerful story and extraordinary choreography. We are proud of our journey. Here’s to history and the people that make magic happen. SLIDE has had 6 seasons for TIME, the first being 2011, then 2012, 2015, 2020, last years 2024 and this year 2025! With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to TIME ‘25🤎 What a special journey this has been. We feel incredibly privileged to have had the opportunity to share this important story with our beautiful audiences, and hope that we have made a profound impact on our community’s awareness of the repercussions of reckless driving on our roads. SLIDE dedicates TIME to all those impacted by road death🤍 Thank you to our wonderful leaders, Joanna Noonan and Julia Quinn, as well as our talented crew, Jerome Chapman, Tomm Lydiard, Bill Surtees, Kylie Lefebvre and Sean Palmer.
