A new joint statement released this week calls for stronger action to uphold the health and rights of people working in Australia through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme. These are people who contribute to our food systems, care systems and local economies. Too often, they are excluded from essential reproductive healthcare. The statement was launched at the Access & Quality: Tasmanian Reproductive Health Conference, bringing together frontline health workers, advocates and researchers from across Australia. The statement calls for: • Universal contraception and pregnancy care • Protection from reproductive coercion and violence • Culturally safe and language-accessible health services • Better access to care during peak times in regional areas This is about reproductive health. It is also about partnership, safety and care. The conversation continues next month at the Pacific Update in Suva, Fiji.
