Due to the COVID19 situation since March 2020, our Children s Festivals in Sydney City, Macarthur Region and City of CanterburyBankstown have been rescheduled many times then ultimately cancelled despite our preparation efforts but we have to comply with the Public Health Restrictions on Gathering and Movement. During the difficult time, we closely monitored the situation by monthly Management Committee meetings by video conference and attended dozens of COVID19 forums held by the federal and NSW state governments. Nevertheless, we have used our time to produce a beautiful book detailing, in words and pictures, the story of the Children s Festival over the last 21 years and its achievements. The Children s Festival (CF) Book I was successfully launched on the sixth of December 2020 at Revesby Worker s Club with the participation of approximately 100 friends and supporters. Following the successful publication of the CF Book I, the CF Book II How to successfully organise Children's Festivals which we are launching on 27/2/2022 provides a clear and solid understanding on how we have successfully held the CFO events in the past. It aims to bring the Children s Festival experience to wider audiences and to encourage likeminded people to hold a festival in other parts of the state and across the country. The work will be a great reference source for organisers and we are hopeful that it will help the Children s Festival concept to continue growing long into the future. It was great that our Organisation was able to hold an End of Year gathering on the Fifth of December 2021. Given the fact that there had been no Children s Festival event for almost two years, in the wake of the pandemic, except the Book launch and AGM in early December 2020, the gathering was a wonderful opportunity for CFO s members, volunteers, performing groups, supporters and friends to interact, socialise and relax, face to face. Based on the daily declining number of new COVID19 infections and the lower levels of hospitalisations of COVID cases, it is the belief of many that the pandemic is slowing and that most of the COVID19 restrictions in NSW has been previously lifted by the Government. Therefore, our planned Children s Festival on 26th of June this year at Pyrmont Bay Park, Darling Harbour, Sydney will hopefully be able to go ahead.
