Sculpture in the Valley 2025 welcomes Stephen King as an invited artist this year. King was awarded the "Sculpture in the Valley Prize" for his work "Truss and Joint" at Sculpture in the Vinyards 2024, Wolliombi. Sculpture in the Valley is proud of its partnership with Sculpture in the Vinyards and this year at our sculpture festival in September we will be awarding the "Sculpture in the Vinyards Prize" to an artist who will receive automatic entry for that exhibition in 2026. Farmer and Sculptor Stephen King is from a small rural town near Walcha. He is well known and regarded for his remarkable and striking large scale wood carved sculptures and has exhibited extensively in commercial and regional galleries within Australia and internationally since 1979. As a farmer, King uses the everyday of rural life to give an insight to the industry of working the land. “Australia itself affects what artists do. Living with the land, you are a bit closer to whatever that is”. King states. We are excited to see King's work in Sculpture in the Valley 2025 in September. Artist Submissions for Sculpture in the Valley remain open until 1 June. artsinthevalley.net.au/sculpture2025 #artsinthevalley #sculptureinthevalley #stephenking #sculptor #australiansculpture #sculptureinthelandscape #kangaroovalley #sculptureprize #artprize #submissionsopen #regionalarts #artsnsw (fb)
