Some of the Legal Practice Board’s payment systems are back online, following the cyber incident in May. The Board has announced that, from this morning, you will be able to access invoices and make payments online via the Service Hub on the Board’s website, although only for the renewal of practising certificates. Other Service Hub functionality remains unavailable, and anyone who hasn’t yet submitted an application to renew their practising certificate needs to do this manually. The Law Society has also been liaising with the Board about the availability of its “Find a Practitioner” tool, which performs the important function of allowing clients, employers, regulators and the public to check the practising status of a lawyer. Following our enquiries, the Board’s website now informs users that the Find a Practitioner tool is offline and provides alternative contact details for people trying to ascertain the regulatory status of a WA practitioner.
