The Conservation Ecology Centre s vision is a healthy and resilient Otways landscape, cared for forever. We strive to fill key knowledge gaps and drive best practice in conservation land management, actively fighting extinction across the landscape, identifying and delivering on shared objectives with diverse stakeholders, and demonstrating sustainable business practices that support conservation and community. Our work is based upon: Learning from Country conducting applied research to fill key gaps in our understanding Caring for Country driving best practice in conservation and land management Creating a caring community fostering lifelong interest in nature The Conservation Ecology Centre is driving landscape scale conservation approaches across the region eg feral predator management. Our applied research programs are informing land management policy and practice eg planned burning for wildlife mitigation and biodiversity conservation. We are effectively tackling key threats to conservation eg feral pig management. We have successfully developed an ecotourism social enterprise engaging community both locally and globally Wildlife Wonders recognised by National Geographic as one of the 25 best places in the world to experience nature.
