As the peak body for the not-for-profit community housing sector, CHIA Vic advocates for a fairer housing system that meets the needs of all Victorians. CHIA Vic provided benevolent relief to people in need by advocating for and supporting the community housing sector to grow and thrive, as part of a housing system where all Victorians have the dignity of an appropriate, secure and affordable home. CHIA Vic worked to achieve this by: Delivering sector development projects aimed at supporting the growth in size and impact of Victoria s community housing sector. Developing policy positions and contributing the development of programs to improve the fairness of the housing system and improve the growth and delivery of social housing. Building community awareness and support for community housing. Promoting solutions and working with all levels of Government on behalf of members concerning the need for community housing. Providing expert advice, identifying and promoting leading practice and delivering training and professional development within the community housing sector.
