Our purpose is to rescue neglected, abused and surrendered horses, and to raise community awareness of the welfare of all horses through education,partnerships and outreach. SAHA operated a horse rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary during the period in the Scenic Rim where it rescued abandoned and neglected horses including those surrendered as a result of their owner being unable to afford medical treatment. SAHA rescued horses that were slaughter bound and maintained them in a safe herd environment or separately where medical treatment was required. We received generous donations of cash and equipment through private and corporate sponsorship and conducted raffles and other fundraising activities.
