As we approach the end of the school year, KEYS extends our deepest gratitude to the David and Eunice Bigelow Foundation for their continued support of the KEYS music program at Jettie S. Tisdale School. KEYS launched our program at Tisdale in the fall of 2018 with seed funding from the Bigelow Foundation and a few new students taking their first lessons. Over the past 7 years at Tisdale, we've continued to expand the program and now provide a 5-day schedule offering piano, guitar, and violin lessons. Research demonstrates that continuity is important to achieve the benefits of a music education and develop the skills that young people need to thrive. KEYS is honored to have provided free music lessons to students at Discovery Magnet since 2010. Students of KEYS piano teacher George Wilkinson and KEYS violin teacher Audie Szymanski celebrated the end of school year lessons at the Interdistrict Discovery Magnet School. Students take weekly individual lessons and enjoyed this opportunity to all come together to perform for fellow students and families. (fb)
