Norfolk Land Trust

The Norfolk Land Trust was organized in 1982 to encourage the preservation of open space lands in Norfolk and neighboring towns for public benefit and to serve as a vehicle for holding land which has been set aside for open space purposes. TO ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION OF OPEN SPACE IN NORFOLK, CT AND surrounding communities FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AND TO SERVE AS A VEHICLE FOR managing and maintaining LAND THAT HAS BEEN SET ASIDE FOR OPEN SPACE PURPOSES: (1) Land easements, (2) Public Trails, (3) lectures and educational outreach.

Our Ells Crane preserve has a new name - Ells Crane Erder. A generous donation of land from Mark and Bella Erder recently expanded the preserve from 19 to 29 acres. Ells Crane Erder borders state land and is connected with a large protected wilderness corridor that extends to Beckley Bog and NLT’s Pine Mountain. We are grateful for support from the Connecticut Land Conservation Council’s Transaction Assistance Grant program, which funded the cost of the survey.    Get out and enjoy our Ells Crane Erder preserve today!
