This past Monday night, members from Salem Volunteer Fire Company and Gardner Lake Volunteer Fire Company came together for a joint training focused on search and rescue and forcible entry at our training building. These scenarios are some of the most critical and high-pressure moments we face in the field — and practicing them together ensures that when the call comes in, we respond not as separate departments, but as one united team. Training like this not only sharpens our skills, but strengthens the bond between neighboring departments. Collaboration, clear communication, and trust are the foundation of effective emergency response, and we are proud to say that both departments are fully committed to working side by side for the safety and protection of the community we serve.
