St. Helena Catholic Church was established in 1940 by Msgr. Arthur Scanlan in the Parkchester section of the Bronx. The Parish of St. Helena is a community of faith that lives and celebrates the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ in the community we serve. The Bronx Concert Singers seeks to enrich the cultural life of the Parkchester community, the Bronx, NY and Greater New York by providing affordable, quality concerts that bring the downtown concert hall experience to communities where classical music programs might not be readily available. BCS produces two classical music programs per season, each performed with professional orchestra, or chamber ensemble, professional soloists and section leaders. The music the ensemble performs includes European choral masterworks, compositions from contemporary composers and works from our world's various cultures.
