Congrats to the winners of the AMLC student presentation awards at this year’s meeting! And to all the students who presented their research - all of the presentations were excellent! Bert and Lucy Williams Student Achievement Awards- Oral Presentations: 1st Place- Fabiola Rivera Irizarry from the University of Puerto Rico - Prevalence and incidence of stony coral tissue loss disease (SCTLD) varies geographically in Puerto Rico 2nd Place- Krista Laforest from NOVA Southeastern University - Induced sexual reproduction reveals bidirectional sex change of gonochoristic coral Montastrea cavernosa 3rd Place- Natasha Bestrom from the University of the Virgin Islands - Investigating microbial communities associated with white pox disease in Acropora palmata populations in the U.S. Virgin Islands Ivan Goodbody Student Achievement Awards Poster Presentations 1st Place- Krista Laforest - Spawning asynchrony of staghorn corals: are night lights and temperatures to blame? 2nd Place- Stephanie Gunby - The ingestion response of corallimorphs to microplastics 3rd Place- Robert Bourne - Assessment of the distribution and population growth of the potentially invasive Indo-Pacific suncoral Tubastrea in Barbados (fb)

We also have more than 200Individual Memberswith professional research and management interests in the Region. While the AMLC is at its core anassociation of institutions these individual members avail themselves of networking and professional interaction opportunities afforded by AMLC activities. Active communication among members is enabled by ourAMLC ListservandAMLC Facebook page instantly connecting members and providing networking and information resources for pursuing our professional and research interests.
