That’s a wrap on our Growing Strong Capacity Building Convening! Day two was jam-packed with innovation, impact, and inspiration. Our group of 40+ organizations explored workshops focused on harnessing the power of AI and how to maximize it for community impact, pathways to align day-to-day work for long-term success, and the power of clarity in your organization's mission. Thank you to HF President and CEO, Frankie Miranda, and HF Board Chair & Head of U.S. Communications, Media and Entertainment Group at RBC Capital Markets, Marcos Torres, for sharing their visionary leadership and words of encouragement. We are honored to walk alongside our nonprofit partners and help empower a new generation of organizations that are stronger, more equipped, and deeply committed to serving their communities. (fb)
This year, we have seen several federal agencies roll back initiatives designed to save lives and address community health concerns. In the wake of such a shift, action from state and city governments is even more important. That is why yesterday, Hispanic Federation brought together health advocates from across NYC on the steps of City Hall for National Hispanic Hepatitis Awareness Day to raise awareness about viral hepatitis. HF Health Programs Manager, Jonathan Rodriguez, accompanied elected officials, health workers, patients, and advocates in hopes of encouraging action among New Yorkers to get tested and demand better access to prevention and treatment. Together, the groups reiterated the commitment to eliminate Hepatitis in NYC by 2030. Special thanks to Acting Health Commissioner & Chief Medical Officer of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Dr. Michelle Morse, Council Member Tiffany Cabán, and #HepfreeNYC for joining us.
