A story of persistence, purpose, and possibility — Susan Johnson’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of opportunity. After immigrating from Jamaica, raising four daughters, and earning her high school diploma at age 47, Susan enrolled at Goodwin University through the SNAP Employment & Training program. She balanced full-time work, parenting, and a 4.0 GPA, ultimately graduating summa cum laude as Valedictorian of the Class of 2025. Now a master’s student in Public Health, she’s turning her purpose into action — advocating for underserved communities, breaking barriers, and inspiring others to keep going, no matter the obstacles.
