Join us in celebrating #JewishAmericanHeritageMonth as we recognize our families, volunteers, and community, hospital and corporate partners in the Jewish American community for their contributions to saving and enhancing lives through organ and tissue donation. 💙💚 Dr. Schneider was a well known Jewish philosopher, public intellectual, and religious leader who taught and inspired countless people in Israel and beyond. He was a caring husband and father of six, beloved by many for his wise and charismatic presence in their lives. He had also signed up to be an organ and tissue donor and convinced many in his circle to do the same. One day he suffered a fatal brain injury in a freak accident while on a biking trip in Judean Hills. His donated organs saved four lives, and his tissue donations enhanced the lives of many others. Dr. Schneider’s funeral was attended only by close friends and family due to pandemic restrictions, but it was watched online by over a thousand people. Everyone who eulogized him spoke about his accomplishments and outstanding achievements as a Judaic scholar, a leader, a role model, and a beloved member of the community. All of his achievements took years of hard work, considerable talent, and collaboration with others. However, this special person's last act of kindness, signing an organ and tissue donor registry card - was a one-time act that took only about two minutes.
