The Water Quality Commission Hearing proceedings are supposed to be fair and impartial, transparent, with decisions made on the scientific merits and according to agency rules. NOT backroom deals where the Governor’s executive branch conspires with agency heads to rig agency decision-making for campaign contributors. We will be filling a Motion to Disqualify and a Motion to Dismiss WATR’s Produced Water Reuse & Discharge Petition until scientific evidence demonstrates conclusivley that reuse and discharge of produced water are safe for public health and the environment. LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR STRATEGY THEORY OF CHANGE what39s happening now OPPOSING THE GOVERNOR39S PLAN TO REUSE FRACKING WASTE We opposed the Governor39s Strategic Water Supply an outrageous plan to use public money to fund treatment and reuse of fracking waste a process lacking scientific evidence of safety and necessity. We won defeating five enabling bills in the 2024 legislative session but the next fight is taking place now at the Water Quality Control Commission where the administration is pushing a rule to enable fracking waste reuse.
