Today at 1157AM Bay Ridge Fire and Queensbury EMS were dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident into a building, with a gas leak at 48 Longview Drive. While Enroute, Warren County Fire Control advised CAR 220 that the corrected location was 5 Kenwood Circle, and there was a Natural Gas Leak. Upon arrival CAR 220 confirmed the vehicle had driven completely through the back of the garage, causing major damage to the Natural Gas Mains. Fire fighters were unable to shut off the free flowing natural gas. Fire Fighters and Warren County Sheriff's Office NY Officers evacuated local residents, and rescued animals from the residence. Mutual Aid was requested by Queensbury Central Vol. Fire Company, South Queensbury Fire Department, North Queensbury Fire for Engines and Manpower to the Scene. West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company provided Stand-by Coverage at the Bay Ridge Station, covering calls for the entire Town of Queensbury. National Grid used a Front End Loader to locate gas line and shut off the gas flow. Thank you to all responding agencies. All First Responders worked very well together.
