Richardson was one of Ipswich’s most celebrated painters—a contemporary of Arthur Wesley Dow, Henry Kenyon, and Carl Nordstrom—who captured the spirit of the New England coast with expressive brushwork and atmospheric light. Curated by Stephanie Gaskins, president of the Ipswich Museum and Richardson’s granddaughter, this exhibition revisits his time painting in Ipswich and nearby coastal towns.
