Join us weekends (and Monday Holidays, including Memorial Day) this May and June for a hands-on family program at the History Workshop where you’ll explore the art of faux finishing, from wood grain to tortoise shell, and try your hand at creating your own decorative masterpiece! All ages are welcome. "Fake It While You Make It" explores how people have long decorated objects to look like what they’re not with visitors of all ages. Historic Deerfield has plenty of examples of these faux finishes to find, such as the faux marble at Barnard Tavern, which can be seen here. Included with general admission.
