Each July, we honor the memory of Bebe Moore Campbell, an author, journalist, teacher, and mental health advocate who, through her writing, worked to destigmatize seeking mental health care in the Black community. Mental health is shaped by many aspects of life, including our lived experiences of how we’re treated day-to-day, the resources we have access to, the impact of generational trauma, and the expectations placed on us by society and our families.
