This past weekend, Michael received his First Holy Communion, and he did amazing! He worked incredibly hard to prepare for this big day, and everyone is so proud of his progress. Over the past few months, his instructors gently and consistently supported him as he prepared for this special moment. With the help of his incredible mom—who provided a visual communion kit—they were able to break the process down into manageable steps that helped build his confidence. They began at his desk, where Michael learned how to receive mock Eucharist and bless himself. Once he demonstrated consistency with this skill, they transitioned to the conference room to simulate the church to practice sitting nicely and waiting quietly. Each step, Michael appeared more calm, focused, and ready to participate. By the time they visited the church for a final practice, Michael impressed everyone with how well he generalized his skills to the actual setting where he would receive the sacrament. We have a plant mom in the ALSP! Madison brightened up our Career Development Center with her new green thumb. Working with Hanisha and Rhi, Madison was so happy to plant 3 flowers and place them in the windows. Next up, she'll learn to water them regularly and show them off to anyone everyone at CLC! (fb)
